For some years now the world
is facing a crisis “much
more serious than any
other financial crisis since
the end of World War II”
(Soros, 2008). According
with the same billionaire
investor „the crisis is far
from over, (…) we have just
entered Act II of the drama”
(Soros, 2010).
Wise people use to said that
every crisis represents also
an opportunity. But
opportunity to do what? To
rethink the businesses
according with the basic
modern management
principles? Or to rethink
the basic principles of
modern management?
The answer of this dilemma
is particularly important
for ex-communist countries.
Not only because most of
those countries were
seriously affected. But for
two decades they learned how
to apply modern management
in a post-communist context.
Now we discover that is
possible to be wrong and the
very basis of the capitalist
society must be rethinked.
Review of Management and
Economic Engineering is
looking for contributions
able to bring useful
insights in this dilemma.
Whatever the answer is, the
capacity of adaptation will
be a strong competitive
advantage to the post-crisis
